i think he is.. thats a rudimentary brute force attack, which is a hacking procedure. if it calculated the keys, you would ban everyone with those keys who havnt even bought their xbox yet.. and that would be very uncool. besides, you probably wouldnt be able to actually connect to live without a positive CRC and if we knew that ppl would be working on a much better solution

sounds illegal. I dont mind having a mod, i dont mind downloading games but when we start moving into frauding the company and using innocent hd keys THATS where i stop

You may be right. This may be too extreme.  I can live with Live just the way it is.  I don't mind paying for that games that I play on live.

About the banning though, that's why I said the app should have to send a "good" x y z code, not one indicated that a mod has been detected.  This way although it would connect, you wouldn't be banned.


Would be a nice app though.  Just run it until it finds a HD key that connects.  Then you that key.

xyz codes get sent nowhere they are only avalible on your box. MS doesnt get your xyz codes unless you read them over the phone.

thats why i don't like the idea of that guy giving unbanned eeproms every few days. he's given out like 15, now i'm pretty sure he will sell those xbox's and those poor owners will now have a chance to be banned for being perfectly legit :/ if you love a game buy then buy it, people worked for it!

I agree, but on the other hand, if a crapload of new xboxes were being shipped "pre-banned' due to this, MS$ might have to stop the mod-chip banning altogether...  

My bet is you wouldn't make it (1) day running a brute force attack on the live server before your bedroom was the scene of a real life bust!

the eproms are from ppl i mod for and they know that im taking theyr eeproms..but they dont care if they cant go live..the only thing thing they care of is to play burned games....nothing else
