Xbox Live On A Mod'd Xbox
« on: January 09, 2003, 12:35:00 PM »

I've read somewere that you can not use xbox live with your mod chip enabled.  But reading further into it I have read tutorials on how you can get xbox live to work with evolution-x.  Now this confuses me alittle.  From what I have read the reason XBox live typically wont work with a modified xbox is that the older version of evolution-x used to have to replace the original micro$oft dashboard.  Which with the newer releases of the bios's out you can actually get evolution-x installed using the evoxdash.xbe or yboxdash.xbe instead of having to replace the xboxdash.xbe.  Thus allowing xbox live to run properly cause it uses the xboxdash.xbe to configure and connect to MS.

Now am I wrong about this.  No were have I read that XBox live detects anything about the BIOS you have installed.  It just requires you to have the xboxdash.xbe (MS style) to be complete, non modified, and intact.

Can someone verify or point me to a tut or something about this?

No.

You have to install a switch on your modchip to run Xbox Live.
