Just Got A New Xbox For Live

when i had the modded xbox connected to the network live worked fine (until i got a new unlockable hard drive.) i put the account on a memory card and installed live on my new xbox. i was going in to do an account recovery and take the account info from my memory card onto my xbox when it brought me to the network troubleshooting screen. it said ip address not resolved. i wend in and manually configured everything (i am positive it is all configured correctly) and went to the network troubleshooting screen again and got the same message. am i forgeting something? do i need to forward any ports on my router? please make any suggestions that could help.

No, you don't need to forward any ports. Did you try to set the configuration to automatic?
Have you used the router successfully before with Xbox? Do the lights appear on the router for the Xbox when you power the Xbox on?

as i mentioned above, it worked on my modded xbox with the same configuration. the router has lights, the xbox wont connect no matter what it is on (automatic or manual).

well, in response to your post shanafan, it isn't modded so how would i FTP in? but i fixed it. there was a typo on BOTH of my DNS servers, lol. they both start with the same 6 numbers and i copyed them down wrong. it works now. w00t.
