As for shanafan and armageddon, I don't see how it isn't logical, how was I or anyone else supposed to know that you can't have another file as the dash.

Let's say that you have an X-ecutor1 and your EvolutionX dash is xboxdash.xbe. When you switch your X-ecutor1 off, does EvolutionX, let alone your Xbox, still boot? NOPE

I wish Opjose was here...

well, that's because the bios is pointing to a different file.  but yes, that is correct.  also to the other guy, how were you supposed to know?  a CRC CHECK!  it's not hard at all, and is effective.  you can expect at LEAST that from MS.

has some one tried renaming an xboxplorer .xbe to the xboxdash.xbe and tried booting it that way?

that is fucking gay.  did he not read the other posts?  if not, let me help you:

THE ORIGINAL XBOX BIOS DOES AT LEAST A CRC CHECK ON XBOXDASH.XBE.  IF IT IS NOT THE SAME FILE, IT WILL FUCK YOU UP SOOO HARD!!!

Ooh, incase opjose reads this.  Opjose, I noticed that when you install xbox live, your dashboard files change.  that includes drive c directory structure and files.  i saw that xboxdash.xbe had changed in size.  so, the file size change occurred, but the bios wasn't updated.  Sorry if i'm sounding like a n00b, but how do you think/know the xboxdash.xbe file is being checked?
