Hey. Since we are able to share digitally signed files on the net (like the ms xbox dash, I deleted mine, got another from a friend, along with all the xips and the xtf files, it works fine on my system with the mod OFF, so it's still signed after copyign it) then in theory we should be able to play backups from the HDD provided that they are do not have a modified XBE. You just need to find a way to execute the game from the dash or with another 'signed' program. As far as I can tell, this is the ONLY thing stopping us from playing backups (on the HDD) on Xbox Live or a system that has the modchip disabled.
If the C partition was big enough to fit any of my games I would have already put a game on it and renamed the game's default.xbe as xboxdash.xbe, but there's a 2nd problem to my idea, the C partition is too small. This brings up another idea, can we modify the xbox hdprepar13 program to format a HDD and make the C partition bigger, and would the original MS bios accept this change? That way we could put the games on C and even though it would be a little bit of work, we would turn on the MOD, copy the game to C, rename the game's default.xbe to xboxdash.xbe, turn off the mod, play the game on Xbox Live. Then for the next game you want to play you have to move your previous game into another folder/partition, move the new game into the root, rename the xbes, etc etc.
All in all it's worth playing on Xbox Live (at least, it is in my opinion).
What are your opinion's and views on this? Does anyone have a game or signed program that is under 300mb (I think that's what the C partition size is, I can't remember)?
