You can buy another Xbox for live? I have two xboxes for that very reason. You can also try xbconnect, an xbox live alternative. Do a google search on xbconnect. You'll find it.

If it says "Xbox Live not found" and the previous 3 tests passed, then you are most likely banned. However, if the previous 3 tests do not pass, then something is wrong with YOUR network.

Another error people get is "Xbox Live is not responding". That problem lies with MS and you are not banned.
