Did you try to go to network setup, and was Xbox Live found? If not, did you get all green's for the first three? Did you change all the connections to automatic? Are you using a router?

Sounds like you have two unmodded Xboxes, am I correct?

Hey Shanafan,
I thought I fixed it when you got me going in the right direction. I tried automatic settings and they were all blank. It wouldn't auto detect. So I changed it to manual settings and copied the settings from my old box. Now it says (1) DNS not resolved (2)x-box live not found. I am not sure why it won't automatic setup. I had no trouble the first time setting up with LIVE.
To answer your questions- I am not sure what you mean by all greens for the first three. The front led is lit up green and the rear also-with a flashing orange light. Automatic didn't work. No router-straight to my ethernet modem connection. And yes to virgin boxes.

I got it working. My automatic settings didn't work. So I input everything manually-and I overlooked the MAC # I changed that and everything works great now. I would like to know how come my box didn't automatically detect everything. I am happy now Thanks,

I kept getting a "Xbox Live unavailable at this time" error message.  I kept retrying and about the 6th time I connected for the first time.   M$ maybe getting swamped.
