It's Been A Month! Is Xbl Hack Found Yet!
« on: December 19, 2002, 02:01:00 PM »

We were told a month ago to wait a month for the Hackers to figure out XBL!

As far as I can tell ... it can't be hacked ...right?

Only non-modded xboxs work and retail games!

I'm disappointed!    jester.gif

Should we give it another month! smile.gif

P.S.  Anyway ...  i thank all the people working on this ...  and if it can be done... i know one of you guys will figure it out! smile.gif

You sure have been gone for awhile. Modded Xboxes do work on Xbox Live, but not in the way we want them to.  ohmy.gif

You can install a switch and use the modded Xbox on Live. BUT, we want them to be able to have the modchip on and able to use backups

I just think it's the princible (spellcheck broke) of being able to play valid backups on Live! Do you honestly believe your original disc is going to last forever?
A disc in my home lasts 6 months, tops..... just got too much shit to do to worry if the case with the DVD in it got dropped more than, say, half a foot and MAY get scratched now. Hence, why I back up all of mine and not touch the DVD. The more I touch/move/use/etc the DVD, the more of a chance it'll get scratched (even minimally) and not work.
See the point now? We're not all pirates aiming for a way to play illegally copied games on Live.

You know what. I'll admit that I have games on disk that I didn't buy in the store. I also have a dozen games that I did buy. This goes for every system that I own (and I own almost every system back to the Odyssey²). But I wouldn't have bought ANY of the games that I d/l'ed anyway. So the publishers, MS, Sony, Nintendo (N64 & SNES) wouldn't have made a dime off me anyway. But I did put something back into the retail business. IE: Broadband connection to get all the goodies, DVD Burner, Blank DVD's, Cases, Ect.
But the games that I have, I don't even play. Its more of a collection then "oh, I must have that". Because if I did "have to have it" I would just buy it. But if its a lame ass game, (and I've bought plenty of lame ass games *after* trying the demo which made it seem cool, I would try it and then shelve it.
Its not much worse then renting. You think Blockbuster is sending a part of that rental fee to the publisher? If you really need help with that answer PM me and I'll tell you. The only difference here is that I don't pay a rental fee. And when I find a rental program that is as good as Netflix, then I may just save my bandwidth and rent the game instead. Is the publisher making any more money from that? Nope, not a dime. I'm I really supporting (insert your favorite company here)? Nope. Doesn't even show up as a blip.
So if you were trying to make us "pirates" feel bad, it didn't work on me. You can take your morals or whatever you call them these days and stick them up your "happy hole".

oh!
I didn't realize you guys didn't want the Modded Xbox to work on Live!
Sorry ... i mistakenly thought it would be cool to play Modded Xbox with Backed Up games on Live or  Figure out how to Create Software that would allow Xobx's to connect using Private XboxLIVE server!

I guess this is not the forum to talk about this...  according to some that replyed here!

P.S.  Does that mean if we find out a way to Play Modded Xbox with Backed up games... we shouldn't share it ...           here!? smile.gif

Eh, AE is just some trashy brand that only appeals to kids in high school. Express is a lot more preppy.

1) blockbuster bought the game. the game company got money for that game. do you think they care who has it at every moment? no. the problem is when someone buys a game. then rips it, and gives everyone else the game. the game company got $50 for every 3 people with the game.. not enuff to cover production costs

2) if its not worht buying when u apparently have the money, its not worth having. thats like breaking into american eagle, stealing everything, then claiming u did no wrong because you wouldnt have bought it anyway becuz ur not a prep.

Someone buys something (anything) I go into their house or backyard or whatever and take it. Then I've just cost that person money.
I go into a store and shoplift a game that I want to buy. Well, I've just cost that store money since they had to pay for the game, either up front or on terms. Even both of the above use the theft as a claim against their insurance it will still cost them money in the long run.
I collect some digital bits off the internet and burn them to a cd / dvd, I've cost nobody any money. I don't collect the same digital bits off the net, I've cost nobody any money.
comparing the downloading of software to breaking into a store or warehouse is not comparing apples to apples. Sorry.
