                                    There is one thing I don't understand.

The "BLANK" serial EEPROM invalidates the encrypted headers and throws the entire video system out of kilter.

The end result is that the Xbox hardware doesn't know how to initialize the video anymore since the blank EEPROM has no inherent video information in it.

When you flash with the blank serial EEPROM your Xbox should no longer boot until you reflash say a Matrix, with the Compex debug bios.

You say that using the blank EEPROM fixed your banned Xbox problem.

But this is contradictory. With a blank EEPROM your Xbox would not have booted.

So something is missing to this albeit interesting story.

Could you elaborate.

umm when i said a blank eeprom i didn't mean the whoel damn 256 of it was 0, but i have an old eeprom from a while ago that makes the serial and the hdkey stored in eeprom to all zeros.  this made no sense on why it worked so that is why i posted.  i was banned before, i was sure of it, but now i can connect.  whether you care or not, i'm still unbanned when i posted this and i'll post my every move of what i did tomorrow.  they never nulled out teh region code or any other settings as far as i know

dunno if my live is generating a random mac or if the checksum was set to teh right thing so it owuld use a blank one.  i'll post the blank eeprom if it isn't against the rules, since it contains no sensitive data such as a real serial or HDKey.
