I think linearxtc was talking about his original factory drive vs an upgraded hd, at which only the factory is safe to use on live.

ALso it is very dangerous to have your mod on and boot live from the original dash

I dont know about this one...  I've upgraded to 120 gig Maxtor (locked of course) and I am able to play Live with the mod chip off and only retail games.  I've been playing since Live went, er... live.

I dont think they are checking harddrives ....   yet..

Ok ok last thing.
Sorry two things

1) i should have no problems updating to live if I just copy my old C: over to my new C:
2) what effect does watching DVD's with the dongle do to detecting mod chip. Say for example I boot up with my mod on, then put in a DVD and it launches C:\xboxdash.xbe. Will this cause my xbox to be banned, and what about if I copy C:\xboxdash.xbe to F:\xboxdash.xbe and tell evox to run that for DVD's. Would this effect my xbox live?

GOt a question for you all.... Obviously changing the MAC and Serial aren't the answer. It's the HD Key... Exactly where can I get that??? I am modding a box for someone and they can get on and I want to transpose that info..... Do I just need they're eeprom bin??????  Also, can two boxes w/ the same hd key play on live at the same time????? Thx

Yes, you just need their eeprom, follow the tutorial on xb-scene and that will change the hd key allowing you get get back online.  The info in the eeprom generates the hd key. As for 2 boxes playing online at the same time, I have no Idea.

I'm sure at some point they'll be able to figure out whether your drive is bigger than 8 gigs.  Once they do that only a virgin drive will work.

wait if this were true than wed be able to reflash our current eeproms and it would work (but i dont think it does)
