Where the f*ck is personal responsilibility today? If someone sells a banned xbox without disclosing that fact, it is the sellers fault, Not MS. . If someone sells you a banned box without disclosing, hunt the punk down.
I also would have preferred a temp ban, but we have no control over MS's policy decision (and should we? No.)

M$ should only prevent Xboxes with the mods turned on from accessing XBL.

If it's turned off, they should let them on.... no banning.

When the mod is turned off, nobody can run unsigned code, meaning that XBL's integrity is intact - no cheaters - which is the point of their crusade, right?

What they are doing here is trying to stop the modding.  All they are accomplishing is pissing people off and leading to more mods  - eeprom swapping for example. I wouldn't be surprised to see a change in policy at some point.

Yes, but they legally *can't* stop modding in places like Australia, so their little hissy fit is going to cost them a lawsuit or two, probably, there.

Whether or not its been banned or someone has damaged the dvd drive matters not, the seller  ripped you off, not MS.
Everyone who was willing to play the odds that MS would not ban xboxs, you lost. Stop blaiming MS, if I get banned then I'll accept it, in the mean time, ill try everything in my power (short of stealing other people's experience) to stay online.

Oh,

Yes, we wish Ms was not permanetly banning our xbox's.  We also wish we can fill our cars with free gas.  And EB was a free rental store.

But we can't and its not, so life goes on.

Class action lawsuits?  I can see it now... and people will end up getting paid... juries LOVE to stick it to big companies.

I just saw recently... and I pay attention to Japanese news because I used to live there... that a bunch of people won a lawsuit against the US/Japanese government because of the noise from one of the Naval Bases (NAF Atsugi).  Each person got like $13,000 because of NOISE!

Not only that, but this NOISE is one thing protecting them from being run over by North Korea!  That's why the US is still there.  The Japanese gov't pays them to stay!

My point... people sue, people win.

I say more power to the EEPROM S/N changers.

Of course, it will lead to M$ to concentrate on the users themselves, but perhaps they will abandon the silly S/N ban.

Class action lawsuit, I received from Apple suit.  I bought a G4 450mhz for video editing 2 years ago which DVD didn't play well without skipping.

5 months ago, settlement and I got a stupid OS 9 CD, while Mac os X was out.  I already had 9. Oh and they gave me coupons for $10 off a $69 apple keyboard and $10 off a $69 mouse.  Are they on crack!
