1. Change your EEPROM region back to Japan.
2. Back up in EvoX (get your EEPROM.bin)
3. Unlock the HD.
4. Change the settings in the EEPROM.
5. Lock the HD again with the changed EEPROM.
6. NOW update the EEPROM on the Xbox.

See how that goes.

Im not sure if I am banned or not.  When ever I try to connect to Live on the last tab it says XBOX Live cannot be found.  I dont know if i accidentally messes my eeprom up or what, I have a backup of it so that is why I asked above.  
Does my xyz appear to be banned?
The 00C2 is what threw me off because it said that it could be due to unmatching data.
I didnt know if I am banned or it I just have some network settings wrong, or if my eeprom is messed up.

Interestingly if I go back to my original Xbox HD, I get a message indicating "modifed hardware" and the following XYZ indicating a ban:

X:0000 F001
Y:00A8 6860
Z:8015 190D

If I go back to my 120 Gig HD, I get a message indicating "Xbox Live not found" and the following XYZ:

X:0000 F001
Y:00C2 03E0
Z:0000 0000


Any thoughts?  Is my box banned or not?

If your "Y" Code is "6840" for the Second Half. Your Banned, Somehow you accidentally went into XBOX Live with the Chip On...

Yea your pretty permanently blocked unless you flash yourself a non-banned eeprom. Most times people dont even notice they log on with their chip on (its usually that damn live aware crap). Sorry man. Be more careful next time (only plug in your net-cable when your sure your chip is off or your sure the game your playing isnt live aware.)

No your not banned, as for being tagged it was determined that the previous method was wrong and as of yet we have no information on how to find out if you are tagged. But like i said, your codse look fine for now.

IF YOUR SECOND Y CODE BEGINS WITH A 6 YOU ARE BANNED. SO FAR NOONE TO BE BANNED HAS EVER HAD ANYTHING OTHERWISE. THIS IS THE EASIEST WAY TO TELL.

I would appreciate if some more people (banned and not) posted their codes.

BTW - I was fine during the beta2 period with a mod enabled - it wasn't till retail that I got banned  , even though by then I had installed an off-switch.  Is this generally the story, or weren't some people banned during beta?  I'm wondering why I wasn't.  Sorry if I've missed this buried in the threads.
