Help for XYZ Live codes - See if you are banned
« Reply #60 on: December 08, 2002, 04:26:00 PM »

Ok had a big of fun today tring to find someone nice to lend me their eeprom so i could on on xbox live cause i was being a dumbass and got myself banned.  That is besides the point.  i found a cool cat in irc told me his was a banned eeprom to but that was all i could find thismorning in a mid rush to start ripping the shit out of someone in Unreal.  To the main point now:

Before i switched to the other banned eeprom
mod off i am getting
x: 0000:F001
Y: 00AB-6860
Z: ...

aka the y number 6860 meant i was fucked

now threw up the new eeprom though banned on the kid i got it from is now:
x:0000-f001
y:00c2-03e0
z:8015-1917

supposively unbaned right? No well not as far as i could tell shut the mod off bootup in the xbox live cable connected, ip found, dns resolved, but still no xbox server found.  gave good old xbox a call for 45 mins we unplugged my cable modem ran strait though... still no go sad.gif so to the xyz code i should be unbanned but i am not... though the s/n on the top of the xblive screen is still the s/n of the kid who gave it to me .... xbox tech support didn't know what to think of that when he asked for that and the one on the bottom of my xbox ... "What the fuck that isn't right"  -xbox techie-  also xbox gave me some insite on what one of the x codes stand for
x:0000-f001  <-- you did not set your mac id
x:0000-f021  <-- manually set mac id

hope this helps you as you have helped me i have a conclusion that the accutal banning is on individual servers as far as xyz but the s/n is banned across the entire network system ... But i am pulling that out of my arse.smile.gif Thanks to pCeSlAyEr for the help. jester.gif

QUOTE (1wolf1 @ Dec 7 2002, 11:23 PM)
Great News Everyone!  GOT XBOX LIVE TO WORK AGAIN!  beerchug.gif

k, I have a question.  First: great work undead, fuzzy, 1wolf1, and everyone else that is part of this.

?: Does MS have a way to detect 2 of them same eeproms goin on line at same time?  ie. if you take an eeprom image from a working xbox and load it onto a banned xbox and try to use both xbox's on XBL at the same time will their be complications?  If not, great!  If so, then I dont see how this would be any better than the buy-swap-return method or buy-dump-return method that we have been flaming alot of people for.

Can someone clear this up for me (if its known yet) as I maybe missing some important info..thanks

Thanks for the shout out Katonta.   But the biggest shouts should go to Superfro, Fuzzy and all the other awessome modders. (too many to list  biggrin.gif )

Well, the box I used belongs to a friend and was modded with an Xecuter 1.0 that cannot be made to dissapear, and as such it cannot go "LIVE".  He agreed to donate his eeprom  rolleyes.gif

I am curently looking into changing just the serial # on his (or potentially dropping my eeprom file into it, so if my friend goes LIVE by mistake it will not kill mine.

I am sure 2 xboxes could very well connect to LIVE with the same info, at least for now, but keep in mind that this system is totally under the control of M$ so nothing is set in stone.  For anyone familiar with DSS they know what I mean.

I am wondering if anyone has successfully hex edited their eeprom file and changed the serial # and then re-flashed it without bringing the xbox to a grinding halt.  If I understand this correctly the serial # is the only thing not encrypted in the eeprom so I will assume this will work.  Am I wrong?

yay for me. i shall give insight now:

1wolf1: pixel8, rustyball and I spent a day or two fucking with the eeprom code to see if just editing it will get me back on xbl. It changed the #s, I lost what they were (fucking HD died last night >_<) but suprerfr0 may still have them. Anyways, there's some sort of checksum routine done by XBL to create the #s. as you can see waaay far back in the thread, changing the serial, hd key, online key & mac address caused my Y & Z to be crazy. we tried switching each thing 1 at a time then all at once. We had no luck in getting my xbox on live. Since then, I've aquired an EEPROM for my xbox that works fine on live and have yet to be banned.

X: (who cares about this # anymore?) 0000-F001
Y: 00A8-4860
Z: 8015-1919

v1 xbox with multibios switches. Only use xbox dash with retail bios enabled...same with live (duh)

Thanks pride, but how exactly did you edit your eeprom?

I need to modify the serial # on an eeprom.bin file and though it looks like the # is in ASCI I want to make sure the xbox will still boot up after I change the serial # with a hex editor.  Sorry this has nothing to do with LIVE but in essence it does cause it will prevent me getting banned in the future  biggrin.gif

1.Turn off your modchip and go to the Xbox Dashboard.
2.Click on the Xbox Live Tab.
3.Go to Network Connections.
4.Wait for the Green Lights (or red X'es depending on your setup) to load.
5.Once they load highlight the help button.
6.Over the help button press the Y button.
7.An X code a Y code and a Z code will come up along with more packet data including upload and download speed.
8.Take note of these Numbers.
9.Post results in Xyz Code, Uncoded on the Xbox-Scene forums in the Xbox Live section

at step 3 above, all i have is new account and account recovery...no Network Connections...

regarding my previous post...

i don't know much about this live stuff (obviously).  i have never been on live and i never plan on do so.  for my use, i don't care if i'm going to be banned or not.  however, if i ever restore my box back to original and sell, i'd like to know if i'm going to be screwing the person i sell it to.

perhaps, the dashupdate proceedure makes no attempt to flag the box, so i don't have anything to worry about?

shit, that's what i thought.  i've been waiting on xbtool to upgrade to x2-4980 which would have prevented this...my luck it will come out today or tomorrow smile.gif sad.gif

But Fuzzy, the HD key is encrypted.  The only thing not encrypted (and thus hex editable) is the serial.
Are you saying that even if the serial is changed and my friend tries to get on XBLIVE I will be banned bacause I am using the same HD key but a different serial?

I guess I will just need a eeprom.bin file with a bogus serial and HD key, something like 0101010101....

I really wish that Superfro had an eeprom editor like he made the fanCbox tool for the bios. hint hint hint....

Does ANYONE know how to replace the serial and HD key with bogus stuff?
I do not care about the date allowing you to get on XBLIVE, I just want an eeprom.bin I can program into my friend's box so he cannot get me banned!

Fuzzy:

I've been able to confirm that an 8015 in the first Z field indicates (only IF you have a full and valid connection to the internet/xblive servers) that your EEPROM is "consistent".

E.G. if you are able to change the HD key and get back a 8015, as far as the kerberos servers were concerned your EEPROM's state is "good". Meaning that the servers think that the encrypted stuff is ok.

The information in the "user" area of the EEPROM does not seem to affect the 8015 results.

This does NOT mean that you can get on XBLive however.

It DOES mean that once we can get 8015 values out of generated HD key's we will have the right formula to unban Xboxes!!!!!!!

This is a BIGGGGGGG Hint for the hackers.

All bets are off if the connection is bad however.

Hey opjose,

did you change "just" the HDD key and recalculated the hash & hdd password ?

or dit you just mess with the first 48 bytes in general and not correctly calculated the hash etc..

Good work,

As these values are definitely bitfields, it's worth hammering down what details aren't needed - like maybe most of X.

It also looks like some parts of Y and probably all of Z relies on some interaction with the Live servers.
