However this strays from the problem at hand.

MS is not looking out for your interests, they are looking out for theirs, period.

They glaze their intent with a rather perversely logical arguement...

E.G. "we are doing this to prevent on-line cheating." when in fact there is nothing of the sort going on.

Try watching some 10 years olds play NFL Live sometime and you'll see both sides switching the difficulty settings in the game, on the fly to fool the opponent. This is cheating and even though this was reported during the beta they mentioned that there would be no effort at a fix.

We saw this with other on line game play issues as well.

No, as they've done with Linux, M-icrosoft is utilizing FUD to drive a wedge in. This is how they work.

And that is the point, had they used other techniques EVERYONE would have been happy, as I previously posted.

We would have all been able to run user created code on our consoles, while MS would have been able to preserve their cashcow under the guise of anti-cheating.
