Xblive With A Switch?
« on: November 21, 2002, 01:28:00 AM »

sure.  the post i made, will do that.

http://www.yakuzagam...a_player_ls.wmv

it physically disconnects the modchip, and changes the hard drive so that no information is sent back and forth.  anyways, yeah.   if you do as my thing says, you'll be fine.

i'm just waiting for a confirmation of this by opjose.  if you want to be extra careful, wait to see what he says.  but other than that, it's a great method.  take a look at it.

i haven't tried this, but will be within the week.

there's no reason why it wouldn't work.  it takes all current knowledge, and adds a lot more security to it.

it'll be fine.  but like i said.  wait to see what opjose says.

keep in mind, which the switch, your modchip will be physically disconnected.  so there is no way in the world to detect it when you're playing xbox live in offmode [modhicp disconnected/original hard drive]

also, when you're playing your backups, there is no risk of anything being carried over, because you're using different hard drives.

another thing.  if you do NOT INSTALL XBOX LIVE on the large hard drive, then there is no way for it to check for modchip anyways!  so yeah.  do what it says in my post, along with not using xbox live with the large hard drive, and you'll be fine.

i just wish opjose would read it and respond!

COME ON OPJOSE!

ok. But do you think it would work without switching the hard drive? It's kind of a hassle. Will a chip send any data to the harddrive that is detectable by xbl? mavmf, did you just use the on/off switch, or did you use the hard drive swap thing also? Also, if there is anyone with a first generation chip (30 wire) that has used the switch, please let us know how it worked out.

yes.  of course.  there are flags posted to the drive that send data to ms the next time you logon.  so you have to use another hard drive that does not have xbox live installed on it.
