I have read and read and still haven't got a solid answer to this question.

I just bought a Matrix and am a Live user I have no problem with buying Live games I like since it seems that backups of Live games won't work on the Live service, the question I have is if I install my Matix chip what bios should I put on it? And what mode should I have it in?  I don't plan on adding another HD.  All I want to be able to do is backup games and be able to burn them to CD or DVD and play them (obviously only non-Live games).  Do I have to turn off the chip to play retail Live games and if so what is the best way I read about the eject trick that turns off the chip is that correct?  Do I need a dash to play backups?
