Xbox Live Is Not Detecting Modchips

Not sure about everyone elses problem.. For all we know they can all be newbies with router/firewall problems. Perhaps xbox live also detects tampering with the hard drive and is causing problems for all those who installed Evox on it. So many possibilities.

But what i do know for sure is that the color of the little LEDs on my Matrix chip is completely in sync with my (in)ability to successfully login to Xbox Live. Red = Can Login, Green = "Your Xbox cannot connect to Xbox Live"

Well we had problems yesterday and some today but not as bad.  Our modded Evo 2.5 TSOP system can connect and we can play NFL 2K3, NFL Fever and NBA 2K3.  Same with our unmodded new system.  MotoGP is not working with either.  We are using beta and not retail live cd.

Silly goose here is the answer

Try using a NEW XBOX MODDED or NOT and you will get connected at least temporary. Use an OLDER XBOX that was modded that worked before the 11th and ot wont work now. MS has temporarly blocked RETAIL clients and some Betas from boggin down the server before the real deal is ready. Come friday Modded and Unmodded will be online and playing.

Argument: Both modded and non-modded boxes are having trouble

I think it is important to note that I have not seen a report that ANYONE has been able to connect with a modchip enabled (In the US).  It is likely that yes there are server problems and people with non-modded boxes are having issues connecting because of that.  But that is most likely a red herring as NOONE can connect with a modded xbox (mod enabled).

I think there have been plenty of tests done where an xbox can connect with modchip turned off but can't when the modchip is enabled.  Very repeatably too.

The only interesting thing is that some people with modchips cannot connect even when they disable their modchips.  Even when they are booting from a yboxdash with the original hard drive.  Though it may just be server issues preventing people from connecting when they have the modchips disabled.

Unfortunately due to the server ups and downs this is a very confusing time to sort these problems out.

I do believe, however, that there has been enough proof showing that they are detecting modchips.

Never mind.  Found the link at the very bottom right of the home page.  Would be easier to see in the menu at the top.

Well that's funny because our modded system is connecting and someone is playing NFL 2K3 right now.  As I said in my last post, only game that is not working is MotoGP for us.

Nfl2k3 has never posed any problem for modded/unmodded boxes.

Only motogp / whacked have had consistent issues.

Well your last post you just stated that noone has been able to connect with a modded system or mod enabled.   Or you have seen no posts of anyone getting on when we just stated we have.

Ok let me step in here and just say........hold your horses folks!!!!! At this point no one can know if modded boxes are getting blocked. Why??? cause some people with modded boxes are having problems and some aren't. Same with unmodded boxes....so just wait and don't make outrageous claims one way or the other......NO ONE KNOWS Except M$ that is a fact, like it or not. so no more posts say "it does/doesn't detect modchips I have proof!!!" Cause you don't

thats not true IT IS A BIOS CHECK FOR NOW THAT IS ALL the new disks arent suposed to work yet and if you have matrix it only works (when the servers arent spasaming) when you put in a real game then take it out, the evox dasboard link wont help So go out there and start playing live (if you got a matrix hehe)

M3_DeL,if u read previous 20 posts ALL people with mods have problems with live.
I still dont have live but i will get it next week.
If u think that i will risk  and use it with my moded xbox you are wrong.
If you are saying that M$ does not detect our xbox why you dont try it yourself to see if its true or not?

I am torn.

5 systems:

1) TSOP EVOX2.5 evoxdash 120GB. XBox Live not found.
2) TSOP EVOX2.5 evoxdash 120GB. XBox Live not found.
3) TSOP EVOX2.5 evoxdash  80GB. Connected to XBox Live, connectivity problems.
4) TSOP Complex Orig. HDD. Connected to XBox Live, no problems at all.
5) Retail Non Modded. Connected to XBox Live, no problems at all.

Yeah, it has to be something where they are blocking serials of ppl that have been in beta for a while to reduce server load until Friday.

Just a reminder from something I discovered in beta with my modded box:

Everytime I put in my EvoX cd (because of Live I made the origanal MS dash the xboxdash.xbe file and leaving it as that, just using EvoX on a cdrw now) my Xbox's IP gets buggered to, you guessed it, the IP that I have in the config file (192.168.0.2) so I can connect to the box from my PC.

After using said EvoX, I go load up something and it cannot connect.  From here, go back to the MS Dashboard the Live settings, IP settings and it's been changed from Automatic to 192.168.02.  Hmm, no wonder it can't connect, that's the IP addy for internal stuff.  Change that back to automatic and let it find the network again and all is good.

Then I go back to the game, and all is good.  I haven't tried a Live game for a week though however because I knew of the transition the network would be taking, that and I'm bored with MotoGP and want to play hockey.

Maybe tommorow (14th) I'll try the final retail Live disc they;ve sent me and try to connect and report my findings.
