The next thing I am going to try is re-installing my locked 80 gig drive.  I took it out after all this madness started.  I want to see if I will be able to sign on with the chip disabled but with the 80 gig drive installed.  I think I should be able to sign on.

Question.  Can you have the mod on load a game then turn the mod off and still connect?

When you guys cannot connect, how exactly?

I'm stuck at the Live setup screen with the 4 points (IP, whatever, DNS and then Live connection)

Everything is good until the last step of connection which gives me a big red X.  So in other words I cannot even connect to Live to see if any games will reject me.

If this setup is not properly set, no games will connect, so here is where I'm stumped.

Another little update (just trying to provide some info) I re-installed my locked 80 gig hd which has evolutionx installed on it.  I disabled my mod chip and was not allowed to sign on to MotoGp.  I removed the 80 gig and replaced it with the original.  Disabled the modchip and I signed on immediatley.

That same procedure didn't work for me yesterday, but I'll try it again tonight.

From reading all the post, it seems like as long as you have your original HD and disable your chip, you should be able to connect to XBL.

I am a beta tester as well but I have not gone online since Saturday night due to school work, not connectivity problem.  I will install a switch tonight for my Enigmah and hopefully when I get my final disk tomorrow, I should be able to go online.   unsure.gif

what exactly is your set up fuzzy?  bios, modchip, virgin hd?  also, if anybody has a detailed explanation of how to install a switch on a homebrew mod i'd owe you forever...  i've looked at the dysfunction page and one other one and i still dont get what is what.

I'm using the retail disk no problem ....how do you explain that?

How did you get the retail disc to work?  I recieved my retail disc in the mail today.  Been in beta since first wave.  Played fine.  Popped the retail disc in and NOTHING happened.  I know I still have the Beta XBL Dashboard but nothing is prompting the disc to update.  What is SUPPOSED to happen?  Is it automatic?  do I have to wait?

Nothing happenes....it dosn't update...I tested by recoping over my old c drive then trying to update...still won;t connect ph34r.gif

it is not detecting the bios because I have the openxbox (pc-bioxx) & i flashed it with the original 4034 Bios so i couldn't load backups--

it still would not connect no matter if i booted from the xbox or pc-bioxx.
