I'll bet that MS will block the ALL ZEROS's serial number right quick!

Re: Keys

YES! Of course it does.

If you do this you'll need to unlock your drive FIRST then re-lock it after you update the eeprom.

So this does not remove the hard drive lock check.
(didnt think it did)

It does look like it changes the hard drive password to all zero's tho...

Thanks Opjose

The only thing which the serial EEPROM records that is of SOME importance to Xboxlive is the "serial number" of the particular machine.

That's about it.

Since this is only tertiary to the whole XBLive login/security process, it's really no big deal.

I will thank you all now.

I will thank all of you who cause trouble on XBox Live, and especially those of you that screw with your serial numbers, and MAC addresses and going on XBox LIVE again to cause even more trouble.  Your actions are going to FORCE MS to not allow modded XBoxes in at some point, which means once again, all of the JERKS out there will ruin it for the honest folk around who have mod chips for much more legal reasons.

So again...thanks.

May have a good point.
A blank serial eprom may cause more harm than good.
