Pc Headsets Work For Live!
« on: October 25, 2002, 08:57:00 PM »

I just hooked up my pc headset to the xb live module and it worked. the m$ headset is exactly the same just is an offical one, any pc one should work, cuz it has the same input. just like the standard one in your pc, so if you have a more comfy one, id use that one, cuz the m$ is pretty un comfy. So just letting you guys know! jester.gif

Note to all:

You STILL need the memory slot adaptor to plug the headset into!

But yes it works fine.

Could have swore that someone stated, you could use a splitter and put 2 headsets in and communicate at the same time. Anyone confirm this?

Ok, if a regular headset will work with live, does anyone have the soldering diagrams for this?

Eh, your sorta missing the point.

The HEADSET comes with an adaptor that plugs into your controller.

The adaptor was already analysed by someone at Xboxhacker who discovered that it's basically a single chip device with some built in code & controller.

YES you can use another headset, but not without the adaptor. Reproducing the device may prove to be difficult, but not impossible.

As of yet no one has figured it out.

The information was posted for people who are already signed up so that they can utilize a more comfortable headset.

Since at the moment the adaptor is proprietary to MS, the only way to get one is to sign up for XbLive.

Hence my scoffaw at the "can I get one" posts.
