thats what i though cuz when i tried it with UC it didnt work thx for clearing this up. I will try whacked tommarrow

cuz when i tried to update the dash it said update was finished and then i restarted my xbox and it just hung at the logo screen. Iwas running unreal off a cd.... I deleted my c and e drive and then restored them..... then i put in whacked and updated the dash from a cd and it worked like a charm...probably when the final version of unreal is released it the play live feature will probably update the dash with the right files instead of the wronge files.

so if I went and rented whacked, could I update the xbox live dash?

my xbox live beta cd isnt working and i need some kind of way to get xbox live on my dash

haha good one........hell i wanted UC instead of whacked.....it is fun though when you play it on live though

i tried boiling the disc for 25 seconds didnt do anything, still hangs at the xbox logo screen

(disc also works fine in my brothers unmodded box but i want it in my room damn it) any ideas??

                                    Are you running the MS dashboard as your default?

Is this what the Xbox comes up in?

What chip do you have installed?
Did you upgrade your HD?
Did you try updating your dash first with Unreal/Time Splitters?

I have sporty-x by premodded.com (im guessing homebrew but i have NO way of knowing since they dont answer ims or emails...)

no my hard drive is original

no i have NOT yet tried to use unreal or timesplitters, but i have a brief recollection in my memory of hitting play live on the unreal menu, but i dont remember what happened... if it said it was updating the dash i would have remembered...

any ideas?

well, I dont think it did anything then becauseevox was my default dash, and everything worked fine afterwards, so it couldnt have tried an update...

im getting whacked on friday, i really hope that does the trick...

when i hit go live on nba2k3 it just goes to a blank screen and sits there forever... hopefully nba2k3 DOESNT have an updater...

Whatever was named xboxdash.xbe was changed. Check your MS dashboard.
