i have i can't install xbox live for some reason it keeps messing it up i first did it with evo installed but i got that part fixed to main screen but i just can't install i tyed many time

If it is UC or splinter cell i see why it doesnt update it

Straight to the point !!! Thanks for all your efforts !!!

Anyway the only things I found was about the problems running the updated dashboard when you have installed EvolutionX , which I haven't ... (yet)

I just have an Enigmah-ed Pal Xbox, swithed into NTSC with the Enigmah-Videoselector ..
So now Think that is maybe the problem, using a NTSC update on the PAL Xbox .... Now when I boot it I see the X coming, then followed by the MS, if I am lucky it boots a game,it takes now sometimes up till 10 times to get it working, but there is NO way I could access any other options, so there is NO dashboard at all ...

Before I could use the following trick to help my Xbox read a disc, I booted it, then let it run, if it wouldn'r boot I pushed Eject, and then when the disc came out half way, quickly pushed the Eject again to make it enter, and it would easily boot, but now the only way to make it sometimes work is to do a compleet on/off cycle, no game ever will boot up using the Eject at all

I guess sooner or later Will have to change the DVD-drive ...
BTW is the Pioneer 500M still the best solution? Or is there any better-fitting/easier ones? Maybe even the new SAMSUNG SDG-605 ? But where can you get it?

Could anybody please advice me what i should do, how i could get it back to a working state again ... do I HAVE to install EvolutionX to solve it, or wait for a Pal Xboxlive Updated Dashboard e.g. ??

Search is working fine too. Not something -I- would deactivate anyway.

The SOLUTION for PAL problems was already posted by a PAL user who ran into the same thing.

If you -BOTHER- to search you may just find it.

                                    Look for the thread posted by the PAL user with the same problem.

well telling me to read the threads before i did it wont help me. Actually i updated it the same day the beta was released and just noticed now that it doesnt boot to the dashboard long before any threads. I will check and see if i can find the pal user that fixed this.

                                      You could get someone's pal box that hasn't been updated with live and copy there c partition to your c drive...just a thought.

ya but you backup the original dashboard...  then after you are done copying you delete the evox dash and copy back over the original dashboard...   That is what i do pritty much..  if i wanna backup a game, i just delete the MSxbl dash...copy back over the evox dashboard..reboot  wait for the evox screen to come up..insert game or XBL game... (with evox running the game won't boot) make my copy to PC...then delete the evox dashboard and recopy over the M$ XBL dashboard..walla...
