When i get the UK starter kit next month i was wondering if i have to revert back to original ms dashboard to install the live software and then change back to evo-x dash or only set the evox dash up to ftp games. how are you guys in the states installing the beta version, what i.p are you setting up etc. also any of you using wireless connections yet with the xbox or just rj45 cables.

The beta does nothing to the MSDashboard, so you need not worry.

The retail kit (or the final release) will be different though. It WILL modify your original dashboard. When the final CD comes out you'll need to make your Xbox "virgin" again & probably disable the mod chip as well.

Yes the Xbox works just fine over a wireless connection.

D-Link even makes an special ad-hoc access point for consoles that is perfect for the Xbox. You hook a cable from the D-link to the Xbox and your Xbox is "on" your LAN. No setup required.

The normal access points need to be reconfigured to do this and require a bit of understanding about what is going on.

Just waiting for the retail version to come out and had worries bout having to change my xbox back to original state to install it. temptedto  just gonna buy another one for £150, dont need to do shit then. need to find some one to chip it and put in a switch tho' as am not good with soldering irons (they dont trust me with dangerous things in here).

Hey, opjose, what do i need to get wireless lan for xbox, not very into networking but have seen a wireless gadget at pc world (uk) that may let me do it.  do i plug my adsl modem into this and have one into my pc and xbox.  will the xbox one work like a cross over cable. need help dude..full instruction plz..cheers

also ive an alcatel modem so how do i connect that to the xbox cos its usb or does that mean BT wont support xbox live. hmmmmm
