Another unsubstantiated rumor.

This would be a strange backtracking indeed after MS announced that they would NOT be looking for Mod chips, merely original disks.

While you may have heard everything you posted, it is more likely to be the result of someone wanting to feel important and B.S.ing you to do so.

Furthermore this is inconsistent with what the XBLive test actually did.

I had a packet sniffer on it just to see what it was up to.

The XBLive test was merely "pinging" different connected hosts. E.G. different "other" xboxes in different locations after told to do so by the server.

Each box was given a set of IP's to ping.
