I belive the song is by Tori Amos.

If you have pc-bioxx installed and didn't soldered the 10the wire, you can boot up using the M$ bios just by pushing/holding the eject button biggrin.gif

Everyone who is hyped up over this, sit down and take a pill!

C/Net was late catching the "mod" clause in their Live contract, so they are merely speculating.

MS had planned on putting this in all along. In spite of the legalese they PUBLICALLY announced that they would NOT target mod chips.

Rather they would be looking for original games in the DVD.

Their announcement carries more weight than anything else. Reversing course now would put them in hot water in many ways.

MS also has been rather freaked out over the shear number of mod chips that are out there (and yes they are reacting to the "unusual WalMart returns" too). This is why they are looking into the Mod chip tech w/potential ways to defeat it.

They are not analysing anything of that sort in the beta test. The current Live is fairly bug free and it doesn't
seem like MS is going to be adding much before the official launch so something like bios checks seems unlikely. And in case you haven't noticed, reps don't know crap and have been wrong 99 percent of the time.

Also, it doesn't seem as if a version check on Live is done when you load it from within a game. So the version I'm beta testing now could very well work for months upon months. We'll find out when MS sends us updated software, but since it would be impossible to send everyone an updated version on the same day, I doubt older versions will stop working.

If you people still want to play online, I am still testing our software called X-Tunnels (simular to gamespys tunnel software for the xbox) which will be available for download in 3-5 weeks.  So far, we are working on the lagging problems when you have a lot on the screen at one time blowing up.   We are planning to run our on Online Gaming Site.  Free of course. One of its best features is you do not need a pc to connect to the internet.  You do need to add a static internal Ip address and your ISP's DNS.
