The chat around XBC is based off of IRC, so if it doesn't work on IRC, it won't work there, can't have numbers as the first character, brackets should work fine, profain names have been blocked etc. Sounds funny though that random letters didn't work, you may have to reinstall XBC or talk to one of their operators about it, I know how their system works and it's probably just a glitch in the IRC server
