Connecting The Xbox On A Lan...kinda

I finally did what I wanted.. got  avalaunch without a chip and a lotta gamez...(still no hdd upgrade tho).. ..ne wayz.. I want to connect my xbox to the internet and use my irc and whatever else is available...i cant connect. my connection is coming thro a  wireless router the to my laptop and then through the ethernet and to the xbox.. but a problem!!! whenever i plug the cable from the xbox to the notebook i lose my net connection... but i can ftp to the xbox now...when i unplug it i get my connection back.. i wanna be able to connect myxbox through the rj45 and share the connection with the laptop..can anyone help me???

Look up internet connection sharing. (ICS).  You'll need to set that up on your laptop if i understand how you are setup correctly.

what do you mean you tried no dice??  I know ICS works.  If you are setting it up wrong search google to figure out how to do it exactly.  It isn't hard and is all you need to get your setup working.
