Connection From Pc To Xbox

If you are just directly hooking up your xbox to your pc, just use a static ip address. That should work for you. When you assign the static ip address, remember to save the settings or when you reboot it will revert back to 0.0.0.0

you need to scroll all the way down and hit save and exit.  that won't work if you are booting from cd.  If you are booting from cd you need to edit the evox.ini and reburn a disc.

what ip does your computer have? how many nics in your computer?
try pinging your xbox with
ping -l 1024 -t 192.168.1.5
and see if you get any timeouts.

Type that command line action by doing this:

Start -> Run -> 'cmd' -> OK.

Should get MS-Dos Prompt. Type the command.

QUOTE (op_ivy @ Nov 20 2003, 01:54 PM)
thanks for that tut, mrRobinson. i was able to succesfully ftp to my box again!

but now i cant access the internet at the same time. how do i go about doing that?

that should be in the tut too.  I don't know your setup but one easy way is if you have two nics just make sure the one connecting to the xbox is on a diff subnet than the one going to the internet.  and don't put in any values for gateways on the one going to the xbox.
