Whenever you use Xbox Live with your modchip, Live will find out and ban you. Nothing with Live scans your HD looking for modificiations.

With previous patches for games, when you connect to Live with the game, the patch is automatically downloaded. It just fixes possible game issues.

Can you play online with hacked items?

I was under the impression sega bans you if they find out....hmm, hacked items... not sure how i feel about that.
