i'm not sure how satellite internet works as opposed to normal internet, ias long as you can upload as well as download i don't think there would be a problem. just set ICS up on your pc and have the xbox use that. have you tried things like xbconnect yet, cos if that works i'd assume live does to

i have satellite, and my download speeds are hella fast, but my upload sucks.  it's faster than 56k but not by much.
as to the original question, my satellite connection is basically like a cable connection, the only difference is, you have a satellite on the roof or wherever which sends and receives your data.  from there it goes down into a coaxial cable which plugs into a cable modem, then a crossover cable from your cable modem to your pc, router or whatever.  hope this helps some.

Okay so it would work. I haven't got a satellite connection yet but I was told that xbox live didn't work with a satellite connection and wanted to make sure I could before I slapped down $600 for a new satellite. Thanks

If the connection is very good then it will work fine but if it isn't then the lag will be increased. This may sound just like a regular conneciton but if you read up on Satalleite internet connections it says on most of them that they are not suitable for gaming because of the increased chance and length of lag.

I would say yes.....as i have dsl.........as long as u can get it through it should work........as i am playing my demo through xlive (motogp) i see people jumping at the beginning........and sometimes through out the game i will catch up to someone then they will blow past me etc.......the reson for this is because the things havent been sent through my xbox fast enough due to the connection.....so i doubt it will lag (on that game at least) it just wont be like racing next to u because of the time it will take to go through the internet.......hope u understand.......it is easier to talk to someone then to type it
