Ok, I don't know why you did the Live update in Splinter Cell when you don't have a broadband connection...

But anyways, it sounds like you are running a modchip like the X-ecutor. Put in your EvolutionX CD and make sure you can FTP to your Xbox. Put your backup of C: back onto your Xbox. Rename xboxdash.xbe (MS dash) to msxboxdash.xbe. Then, FTP over your EvolutionX dash, and have it be called xboxdash.xbe.

That's it. You don't have broadband and thus, there is no point in nuking your Xbox again by installing Live.
