i tried locking my hard drive with eepromer .45 and i got the 'unable to lock hard drive' error. anyone know if i can still lock it? can someone please suggest something? is there a different version or some step i am missing?

Do you have a Maxtor? They are give some people problems (not me though, and I locked two)

Otherwise, try locking with a PC or Configmagic. Always good to test!

i used configmagic and it gave me the same error. the last time i tried to lock with a pc the hard drive broke. the hard drive i have now is a replacement for the broken one. i am hesitant to do it. what are the chances that it will lock in my pc?

ConfigMagic Supports both V1.0 AND V1.1

if its a Maxtor you might some problems locking it.. a lot of people reported Maxtor not locking..

if it says "Locking not supported" in configmagic then its not supported by your drive...

its a v1.0 and configmagic said locking not supported. damn. looks like i am gunna have to buy another box. fuck.
