With exstazi's extreme generosity, I finally got my modded and banned Xbox back onto Xbox Live. Configmagic is such a great program guys, I HIGHLY recommend checking it out if you have an unbanned EEPROM and want to get back on Live. exstazi was a true hero and gave me an unbanned EEPROM and teetu told me about the "on-the-fly" edit which allowed me to easily (geez, still in shock about how easy this was) to convert a PAL, Region 4 EEPROM to NTSC, Region 1.

Well, maybe should not have bought that second Xbox just for Live, but you never know what might happen in the future.

I did a backup via EvolutionX and it stated my file creation times (I was looking at the time via my FTP program) as 8:27 AM! Now, it was really 3:00 AM here, and I was like what the hell? Its not 8:30 AM here! Turns out the EEPROM had my Xbox set in "Europe" time and wasn't in my standard Eastern USA time zone.

Anyways, just was funny to me...

Hi shanafan, I know you got a PAL eeprom. Does it work now? I mean let you go to Live after change the Region Code.

I ask this because I have a modded JAP XBOX, but not I want to change the region code to US so that I can play Live now. Thank you.

Yup, Configmagic lets you easily change the region using on-the-fly edit.

Before, the EEPROM I got was

PAL, Region 4

and I just deleted the letters and keyed in:

NTSC, Region 1

Viola! It worked

Could you write up a detailed step by step method for us Im getting a eeprom also and need the instructions to get my banned box back on live. Also what steps are you taking now to keep the old box from getting banned again?

Yes, I can only play originals on Xbox Live.

Detailed instructions how to change my EEPROM and avoid getting banned? Download Configmagic from the usual places and update your Xbox's EEPROM with a unbanned EEPROM you got. Avoid getting banned? Use a switch and always, always have the modchip off when accessing Live.

I for some reason got the idea they were running on seperate servers. I have been known to be wrong once or twice in my life though. Anyway it was just an idea. Maybe one of these geniuses will figure out a way to create one randomly that will work. I know that one is way out of my league. Till then my friends will do me just fine.
