huh? i got banned from using my mod chip on the main dash board isnt that a definite answer?

So in simple terms dont use the ms dashboard when mod is on. or your get banned like i did  unsure.gif

Its not a simple answer because I went to the MS dash over a week ago with my mod enabled and I have yet to be banned.

So let me get this straight, you went to the msdash but NOT Live. You never went to Live with your mod enabled only msdash. Correct?

And you got banned?

You sure you never went to live with your mod enabled?

Sorry if I sound patronising (really don't mean to) it's just this is the first time I've seen a post like this. Howver like I say I've seen plenty from people who use msdash with their mod but haven't been banned like you.

I'm not telling anyone to go and drop to your MS dash!  But the response of don't do it because it MIGHT screw up your xbox doesn't do it for me.
I want to turn this into a thread of people telling their personal experience with this issue.

We have 1 person that said he got banned from dropping to the ms dash.  He said he didn't click on the live tab or anything

We have 2 people that say you will be fine (me included...for now).  Read my post on page 1 for a detailed explanation of how i got to ms the dash in the first place.  I didn't click on the ms dash in evox.  It happened another way that I didn't even know was possible.

Daryl, the way you describe, matrix mode 3 actually boots from the onboard(original) bios, so going to the msdash that way the "mod" is NOT on ph34r.gif

OK, but the light on my matrix chip was green while I was at the ms dash.

Just to reiterate.  This is how this all happened for me.
My Xbox was turned off with no game in it.  I turned on the xbox by hitting the eject button.  Usually it would go to the orange blurb and the evox menu would come up.  Then I would go from there.  load game, eject (disabling mod), put in live game and play.  This time instead of going to orange blurb/evox menu it went right to the green xbox blurb and straight to the xbox dash.  The light was green on my matrix chip at this time.  I don't know why that happened, but it did.  As a matter of fact it has happened a couple times like that.  Now I only power on my xbox by pressing the power button and it seems to always load the evox menu (which is what I want).  I don't power on by hitting the eject button anymore.
Just to make clear.  I have never gone to the xboxdash by hitting the ms dash button in the evox menu.

By the way i am using evoxdash.xbe, Matrix mode 3, evolution x 1.82 blah blah blah

the green blob/logo indicates that it is booting onboard bios, so when msdash ran your "mod" was off, so no worries wink.gif

if you want to experiment with running updated msdash with mod on, offline/cat5 out, I am sure some of us would be interested in seeing what your results are sad.gif

Ok, so are you saying that even though the light on my Matrix chip was green - not red and I was at the ms dash - the mod was not enabled?

Correct, if you are using a colormod bios(you are), and it boots the original green logo you are running original bios, it will boot msdash

not sure whats up with the green light on the matrix, possibly one of the pogo pins was not making good contact at that point in time?

so basicly the matrix may have thought it was on, but if it booted green logo/msdash it was not functioning

Hmmm.  I don't think that is the case, but who knows.  Anyway, I will update this thread every few days so people know if I got banned or not.
Still, if there are people out there who actually have/have not been banned after dropping to the ms dash with mod enabled please post.

I have an enigmah with a switch. I booted to the dash multiple times over the last 3 weeks with my chip turned on and live installed. The first time i did it was on the 16th of november and i did it many times afterwards. I didnt do anything on the dashboard, though. I only got there by way of dirty disk errors and ejecting. I did not select the live tab, or any other tabs. After 3 weeks i have not been banned. NO BAN FOR ME. I play live all the time and i play splinter cell(backup) all the time. I am running evox off of a cdrw with a pc-dvdrom on top of my xbox if that is of any relevance.

it might  be the alignment of my mod chip as the last 2 out of 3 times I turned on the xbox (by pressing the power button) it went straight to the ms dash with mod light green.

you say "i play splinter cell(backup) all the time".  You have never clicked on the content download part of the game right?
