Ok, No Bs Here!

1) Sort of, i have been doing XYZ code research (check earlier topics) and the second numbers in y have to do with whether you have a modchip, have ever had a modchip, etc. etc. etc. So there are some sort of flags on the drive.
2) At the moment, locked drives ( i think), modchips that are enabled, and modified dashboards.
4) its been claimed to be done but the people who did it where later banned so noone can be sure

Evil shanafan time.

Isn't this guy a joke? He is a newbie and wants to control the board? LOL, that is so funny. Telling us whether or not we can post here.

Good funny times. But, I will answer one that fuzzy didn't.

3)How much is actually banned when you are band (i.e. your xbox serial, your xbl key, your mac, your hd code, bla bla bla)

I think its just your Xbox's serial number. Your Xbox Live key (did you mean acccount?) will not be banned at all. MS recommends us modders to use Live on a different, unmodded Xbox.

I'm going to have to agree with M3.  I've always disabled my mod when I play Live, even on the infamous day (Nov 15th)  hmmm what a concept...

cheers M3    beerchug.gif

No, Im not a newb, and not naming anyone (*cough* shana) you should look in the mirror before looking out the window. Thanks anyway for the one legitimate response.

What was that for? Oh, I'm sorry. Guess when MS bans your system they also ban your account. But its funny how I am using my Live account on my unmodded Xbox.

LOL, ok...

Still don't know why you said my name...

Just thought I would make post one "helpful" reply that can easily be found through searching, but still appears to be in doubt.

When you turn the system on, the bios is shadowed in memory (a fact).  This is why you can, for instance, boot from a mod chip and then completely remove it while the system runs without catastrophic results.

This being the case, it is impossible to "disable" the mod for live after it has been turned on, because any hashing or checking of the bios is done to the shadowed portion, not the chip itself.

So, the short answer, you cannot play a backup by turning the mod chip off and expect not to be banned.
