Ok, lets give you all an update on what has been happening.. First off, changing JUST the serial, mac won't get you back online.. We only changed the serial + MAC on a non banned system to see if XB Live was checking serial.. and it was not.. we had a "generated" serial and MAC and Live was still happy.. so after some more work it was established that it is based on the encrypted 16-byte HDD Key that is used to calculate your HDD Password.. You change this and you are back online ! It has to be valid 16-Byte Key though.. we think MS generates these and checks for validity.. And if yours is invalid or banned, your screwed.. You have to get one from a non banned system at this stage.. we are working on it though..

Im a beta tester in one sense, as it doesnt offically launch here until march, but i am using the startup disc. I dont have to do anymore updating. Im using the STARTUP DISC. Just like you guys in USA.

Well hopefully this is confirmed. If this is true, that means you would have to replace your old dashboard everytime you want to play backups using the EvoX CD.

So can you play backups with your modchip enabled while not connected to Live and not be banned when you connect to Live the next time? I thought some of the postes going on here we're BS, but rather be safe then sorry.

I never said u should run the updated dash with mod on, Im just stating that u can, and evo should be safest if the MS dah link is taken out of the evox.ini and the cat5 plug is pulled out of the xbox, then NO CONNECTION K?

If you were to play live from the original dash that was boted from the evox bios then you d be banned, you can only get banned when you are connected to live, nothing you do when you are not connected can get you banned.
Of course if you setup is not correct you can get banned right when you connece to live, like an aftermarket harddrive or something like that

Read the above and want to make sure ive got this right......

if i start the box straight to the original dash with switch off then use live id be ok........

but if i start using evox go to the dash then connect ur gonna get a ban ....

what do you reckon

and was just thinking

if u turn the mod on and start ur box using the original dash will it flag ur system
