here's my theory:

opjose is a little 14 year old living in arkansas. he never gets much attention at school, and all the girls think he's "yucky". suddenly, everyone on these boards think he's like the fucking messiah, because he claims to have a modded xbox that can connect to XBL with NO PROBLEMS, even though all the rest of us can't.

we're obviously amazed with his l33t modchip haXor prowess, and all his threads get linked to [h]ard|ocp, xboxhacker, etc...

opjose's ego inflates, and he writes archaic posts that cause more confusion than clarification. of course he has 6 xboxes "just lying around"! hell, i have 15.

has anyone else noticed the opjose fanclub forming here? am i the only "scully" among all you "mulders" that are just DYING TO BELIEVE?

my xbox is chipped. i can't connect.

as far as MS and their "FUD" tactics are concerned... who really cares? if you have been ripping off games from blockbuster (rent -> dump to HD), then what's the big deal? my chip still works beautifully for "offline" games, and if live is really all that special, i'll just buy another xbox.

THEN, if my "virgin" xbox still can't connect i'll have a valid reason to bitch to MS support, and they'll have a valid reason to fix it.



the free ride is over, folks. keep shopping at blockbuster for single player games, but don't be surprised if you need a new xbox to play ONLINE.


has anyone else noticed a trend here? wow... it's just like my PC!!! ohmy.gif i can DL all the little warez my heart desires on IRC, but if i want to play UT2003 ONLINE , then i need to go buy a REAL RETAIL COPY, with a working CD key!

the only difference here, is that when you bought the xbox, you're actually "leasing" it from MS, and they can do whatever the fuck they want any ol time it connects to LIVE. THAT's PART OF THE AGREEMENT!

section 7. EULA:

if they did that to the PC, everyone would pitch a fit... so they can't.

What he meant by Connected is if you have a modchip in your Xbox with the Final version of Xbox Live you can get connected through the Dashboard. But when you try to play a GAME Online with Xbox Live IT WONT WORK and you will be BANNED!  Lots of people have modified consoles and have NO PROBLEMS with Xbox Live because they just Installed a Disable Switch so Xbox Live cant detect the modchip.  wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif  wink.gif

fuck you.  opjose has contributed lots here, and is working on new ways to get connected.   and all you do, is get mad at him for not coming through for you yet.  why don't YOU fucking try to do something for the group, rather than criticize them for not doing something for you?

god damn n00b.  opjose is very well respected here, and comments like yours are unnecessary.

yea, i think opjose is a very great resource to the "scene" and all- but i think this one is just over, and when i say "this one" its in reference to all these would-be hacker opjose wanna be's- just buy another XboX and stop crying-

and im happy opjose has found his happy place here on xbox-scene

Common Guys.  He just got confused why he could do things that NOONE else could.  But the things opjose has reported everyone else with Xbox Live with a modchip and who isnt banned can do.  beerchug.gif

                                    about this.  i had come to the exact same conclusion based on what MS had said.  when they said that systems that have ever had a modchip in them get banned.  they weren't completely true, but the flagging deal is.  i later saw opjose report it as well.  it makes very good sense, and can catch many people off guard.

i just want to say thanks to opjose, and the many other people that have contributed to this board.  don't let the negative comments of a few discourage you!  good work, and keep it up!  smile.gif

gee bjork, i dont agree with opjose all the time, but i dunno maybe the most contributing member of the entire community has done a little more than a newb (namely you) so before you go ranting why dont you go into search and hit search member an bring up all his posts. Now start reading every problem he has solved, Come back and post when youve counted them all, then go count yours and come back, case closed  biggrin.gif

this wasn't intended as a personal attack against opjose, but i get frustrated at all the misleading information in his posts... it feels like he's "riding his little wave" a bit much here, and he seems to have a pretty highfalutin (look it up) attitude as of late. disagree if you like, i really don't give a shit. i'm just getting tired of all these:

opjose: i can totally boot modded consoles, when will you LISTEN to me!!!!!

on this one i can verify. I am not agreeing anyway or backing up opjose. i am just stating my own facts and what happend to me.
I have two xboxs one is just modified. NO HARD DRIVE EDITING NOTHING. just a mod chip. I got live and wanted to go online. However reading forms and such i have learned that if you even attempt to try to log into live it kills your xbox. So having that done. I installed a switch on my one xbox. So i could disable mod chip and go back to the origional bios. I was using this fine for about 3-4 days and suddenly (XBL Not found) I.E. Xbox banned. I am not trying to over run anyone else this is just what happend to me. THATS ALL I AM SAYING smile.gif
