Does XBconnect use a specific server?  The reason I asking is becase if it is I am sure M$ will put a stop to that.

The main question still is will MS continue to include the system link feature so we can continue to use gamespy and xbconnect.  Anyone know if they will or not.

I have a feeling they may stop the system link feature.

I feel sorry for all the people who have Xboxes from other countries who mod them to play US games, but can't get on LIVE now... which is BS.

Plus all the used funcoland and ebay xboxes which have been banned, and you have to send it back to MS so they make money and unban you.

                                    doubt it, but who knows...  I cant see them doin such since right now there are more games for system link then there are XBLive games.  Its easier to develop than XBLive.  Not everyfamily can afford XBL (not to mention if each kid wants his/her own gamertag then an XBL subscrip for each is necsessary), router, pc, plus high-speed internet, so they would be hurting the poorer and larger families.  Whats next subsidized gaming?  wink.gif

LoL.  I'm waiting for the addon and pay levels to be released by groups so people don't have to pay for them, lol.  I'd gladly pay full money for a game, but I'm not thrilled at the idea of paying for extra levels when its not even a true addon pack...

                                    they will.  as someone mentioned before, halo 2 will NOT HAVE THE SYSTEM LINK FEATURE.

someone posted that on this forum.

so yeah.  they're expecting EVERYONE to go on xbox live.

I have Dial up... that sucks ... can I play gamespy or xbconnect with my dial up... my guess: NO!

So If I got a hub switch it still wouldn't work... because the picture of the system hook-up says nothing about cable/dsl... or maybe I could use... I'm not really smart in computers..

I ahte to bust your angry bubble but xbconnect is a limited time solution. Games in the future are not going to have box-to-box support so there will be no way to play them online except for live. This includes halo2 and alot of very anticipated games. Theis is confirmed to  be true.
