Once again, I say to OP...

Disconnect the machines that have been 'connected since Friday', leave it an hour or two, reconnect and post the response.....

GUARANTEE  - THE MODDED ONES WON'T CONNECT, THE UNMODDED ONES WILL

What do you gaurantee?  Free lunch? Free Xbox?  If you want me to shit in a box and mark it gauranteed, all you'll have is a gauranteed piece of shit.

Seriously, packets do go out, I believe it is server side.  Does this mean its not mod chip detection? no. Does it mean it is? no.  You are not adding any more valuable information to the topics.  Now they are 1000 messages long and still only have 5 messages worth of real information.

I have purchased a new XBOX (90 day return policy from wal-mart and Target because of Christmas) and I will just play that until all this gets sorted out.  I am keeping my modded xbox on the hope that this is just some MS screw up, but at this point I think that it is as likely one way as the other.  For my info input, 5 out of 6 with mods can't connect and 100% without mods can connect.  So I for one doubt that 30% of xboxs are having problems.  Only time will tell.  Keep up the good work (those actually doing work and not just complaining)

well ok about ur sniffers. What im saying is soon as i turn my xbox on and goto live it says CANNOT COMPLETE NETWORK. before it even tries anything. Like one of them pop down menus pops up and says this.
im just pissed dude, i wasted 50$ on something i cant use.

And slo i know everyone is saying they dont ban the serials or w/e they are blocking. And everyone here is refusing to admit they are blocking the syetems. i know i am one of the people who refuse to admit it.

I just wanna hear ur guys explanations on the big ass listing on how Xbox is blcoking the xboxs for now and in the future. Coming directly from MS.  Are they making this up to scare us???????

I believe you're talking about that first error box when you click on LIVE in the dashboard.  In that case, the packets are being sent back and forth while you're watching the cool "LIVE" animation come up - it's not instantaneous - it's just doing it in the background.  It does it again when it goes through the network connections after you click ok there - but it's already gone through the process while you're watching the animation load.

QUOTE (stealth @ Nov 18 2002, 02:17 PM)
You should make a copy of this post andreo as it may get deleted as mine did in the "Xblive Facts About New Mod Chip Detection, The REAL deal." topic.

Apparently criticism is not allowed here.

I don't see a reason why it would be deleted. I'm not bashing the guy. I'm not kissing any ass either. I read what opjose posted in the begining days of this problem along with everyone elses ideas. I thought that it was a mod chip problem. For a while I thought it may not be a chip issue. I even started a thread that said I didn't think it was a chip issue.

I was wrong. I thought I was on to something else but it didn't pan out. It was mod chip detection.

But for now that doesn't matter. For the longest we thought that MS couldn't detect mods. Hell, go sites still selling the Enigma chip like GameGizmo and read the specs. It says not detectable by MS on-line (or something like that). We let our guard down and MS gave us a right hook.
I think the only long term way to get back on-line is to buy another Xbox. I know that there will be utilities out there that may get you on-line for a couple of hours, days or even a month or two. But I'm sure that MS will catch wind of such activity and start banning accounts. After all, they read web sites also.
So from what I hear, the price may come down again sometime after Thanksgiving. If so, I'll go out and grab me another Xbox. In the mean time, if it seems to be safe to just switch the mod off when playing on-line then I may mod it and recoupe some of my money by selling my now banned Xbox to someone that doesn't care about Live. If it turns out that MS is looking for mods at any time that you have the console on then I will keep my modded system and not mod the new one.
No big deal. No reason to argue. No reason to fight.
