I called tech support too... I mean everyone else is- why should I be to odd one out?

I played dumb of course, but unfortunately the tech guy i talked to was dumber than me when I was playing dumb (thats dumb!). He's like let me do some research and I'll be back. He gave me some server overload BS, so i was like tell Bill Gates to go fuck himself if you have server problems.

Hes all like "it was a miracle you were able to sign up with a retail kit early". I was all "yeah, its a miracle I can't get on when it's supposed to be working".

I hope he gave you a direct line to him. I was told to call back but when I asked to talk to the guy I was told they had no capabilities to forward my call to him without a direct extension. So I had to explain the story for the 5th time (All while I was in the car to return the damn thing, which I did, and told him I was doing at the end of the call)

Like I said before I was told today that my Xbox was banned. I was offered a fixit plan where I could pay $148 Canadian and send it to MS to have it checked (for no mods/proper working order) and declined.

I was comletely honest with the tech and she was nice (and much smarter than the average). Her Knowledge Base went down during the call and we had to wait 10 mins for it to come up for the info on the fixit plan (Address etc.). We chit chatted in the meantime. She knew about xboxhacker.net and this site so she was up on the choas that they have caused. She was also very aware of all the things a mod could - so I nicely reminded her that if MS would have warned people about the MOD chips with Live MS could have actually stunted sales of the MOD chips to some users because they knew they wouldn't be able to get onto live and there for never buy a chip. Also sending everyone out to buy an extra xbox to play live actually loses MS money. I asked her if my account was in trouble and she said no just your box.

The only reason I was honest was because I have a second xbox (unmodded) which my Live works on just fine. Also it kinda became neccessary when I realized I was getting the check with your ISP brushoff so I decided to admit that my machine HAD at one point had Mod inside it. (I have since taken it out for testing purposes, but I will be putting it back in if the box is truly blacklisted). I also asked about a buddy who is in the same boat and she told me to tell him to get a new box (unless you want to go the $148 ficit plan route) and then phone back and they will help him recover his account to the new one because he doesn't have it on memory card.

So there - they did admit to banning boxes - but only after I admitted having a MOD. These people are not trying to destroy peoples fun, they are just protecting their service.

I don't really believe you. But just for grins. Do you remember her name? I would like to talk to her. What about that fixit number. Do you have that handy so that I may call them? And why is it that some people with mods enabled can play just fine (Same mods as I have btw)

Like I said before... I am a pirate, but I am not an asshole about it.

I knew DAMN well what I was getting into when I opened the X-Box.

The ONLY people that should be the SLIGHTEST bit upset, are the ones that put the chip in to get a bigger harddrive to put more music on, or the ones that only wanted to play the one or 2 home made games that are out, or the ones that only made real backups of their originals which they then stored in a vault for safe keeping.

IF YOU COPIED ONE FRIGGIN GAME ILLEGALLY, then I say quit yer bitching, and take your medicine. Don't blame MS for this guys... that connotes that you are not able to take responsibility for your actions and I think that is way below your intelligence. You knew what you were doing.

I'd prefer cashing out extra C$200.00 and get a new box with 2 games than doing so, it's best to keep this unit as an not-so-expensive DiVX desktop player and that's it. I modded it for this purpose, of course I didn't expect to have it serving only for this in the end, but many people who made copies are crying over nothing, as they didn't pay the retail price on those games they have on their HDD and surely they should have a way to buy a new box only for Live, if they care for it.

PCreaper, you are right about MS banning certain XBOX's. And to all those idiots out there: THIS IS A MODCHIP ISSUE!

Stop denying it and face up to the facts that people are having their XBOX's serials blacklisted from XBL servers.

I was a BETA tester in the UK, until they decided to ban my XBOX from the service. It stopped working for me on the 13th, but i knew that it was too early to suggest anything until the actual release date(today 15th)

My XBOX did have:
TSOP flashed to Evo X 2.5
Original HD with a few games and apps on
boots to evoxdash.xbe

I decided to change this to try and make XBL work as it would not work with the above config

So i changed to:
Enigmah with switch
All games and modds taken off HD
boots straight to the MS dash

STILL NO LUCK.

So looks like its gonna have to be a new xbox for me

tier 3 just called me back and since my box went in for repair there saying the s/w is messed up (my modded box) the first asked me for 99 bux plus shipping i bitched about it and they said i could send it to them free of charge so who the hell knows whats goin on and i wont send em this box but i still use my unmodded box to get on live its definitle a modchip problem tech support guy pretty much said i know whats wrong but i dont wanna accuse no one of nothing

I guess when I and other (including opjose) say the kerberos session is hardly being completed, much less started in order for this to in-fact be a mod-banning issue, it means nothing?

Maybe it's because some of you don't understand such things, I don't know.

I only hope opjose can come on this evening and restore some order to the ppl who keep saying "THIS IS WHAT IT IS!!!!!" without any evidence or investigation on their part. Do something that actuall ADDS to the threads.

i agree zander, I'm going to get the xbox live starter kit, but I am going to restore my hdd to exactly the original settings and then get a swith installed on my executer then I will play, but not with a modded system until then.

well i been busted. someone try to go to the system info screen and hit y and see if it works?? mine wouldnt do it and he said really?? i said yeah and he said oohhhhhh. i said oh what he said why didnt you save me the hour and a half i just spent trying to fix your xbox and tell me you had it modded. i was like what the hell you talking about i bought this thing off ebay? do the new xboxs come modded from the store? (playing dumb) he said look dude you know what you did. so busted i said well what if i sell my xbox on ebay and someone else cannot connect to xbox live. he said they can send it in and get it "repaired" just like that other guy was saying. i asked if he was serious and he said yeah. and i said so your willing to pis off all those people? why dont you just block illegal software. blah blah blah this is the only efficient way to do it. so if you dont believe me call up 1800 4myxbox and tell them your modded xbox wont work. they will tell you to either send it in or go get a new one. sux. if you need me im on my way to get a new xbox. btw someone try this reseting your xbox. mine wouldnt let my do it. i assume this is the way to fix this problem and if you had a mod it dissables it and only ms (or a hack) will let you reset your xbox to reinstall live..... one other thing you guys might wanna try is filling the 8 gig hdd with zeros and install it like you would a bigger hdd cause thats how they are blocking us. its got nothing to do with your network connection. or blocked serial numbers. so anyways have fun im going to get a new xbox. sorry guys i thought we had it for a sec.
