You didn't explain how he said to reset your xbox!!!

You honestly don't expect us to believe that merely hitting "Y" at the system info screen resets your box do you?

Tell us EXACTLY what he said to do to reset the xbox. We can try it on a unmodded xbox and verify what you say is true.

If you do not, then it is obvious you lied the entire time.

I hope you prove me wrong.

go to the dashboard, go to settings, go to system info, and hit y.. thats as far as i got i said its not comming up. he said reboot your xbox so i did (i dont have a mod in this one anymore i took it out to see if live would work) so i went back and it didnt work again and thats when he said he knew. he got real pissed off and said hes not loosing money from my modchip so he dont care but i shouldnt waste his time.

Xbob live- I can get the "Y" button info with my matrix on (and of course when it is off). I'm sure tons of other people can get the Y info with mods on as well.

you think i have nothing better to do then sit here and make shit up?? i just want my shit to work. maybe im dumb for believing this dude, but we were on the phone for almost 2 hours. and then just in an instant he called me on it. i said no and he persisted. so hey if he got me then he got me. ill buy a new xbox and tell him he should be an actor or a lawyer for lying so well. i hope and pray you guys can get it to work or this is just some big server problem please fix it. i still have 2 xbox's that are modded that i want to go online. but for now my mind has changed and i dont think they are lying

Talked with someone on #xblive on efnet... netjunkie to be exact..he got a new xbox..he did me a favor and went to the sysinfo screen and hit y..nothing came up for him.... its a V1.1 box new

so bob..if that dude was like you are wasting his time..i would call him backup and say FU you are wasting my time with his BS about the Y key...

call up xbox and ask to talk to the supervisor his name is sean (depending on wich location you get, there are 2 i believe) ask him to talk to a lvl2 tech and see what happens. i dont know a damn thing about xbox's i know he asked for my serial number all the numbers on the bottom of the box, the numbers at the end of the sys info shit so on and so forth. but i know that you can reset your xbox my brother has had to do it and mine wont do it. so whatever like i said maybe he got me but fuck it i spent so much time on the phone with these guys all saying its sevrer problems not once hearing its a modchip or anything about modchips no questions about modchip nothing and this dude called me on it and i choked. BTW to get your reset stuff you have to call the xbox hardware deprtment not the live department.. although i think they are the same they will transfer you if you call live.

all of this is completely ridiculous.
it's like a witchhunt, only way less redeeming.

i have been unable to connect for three days. the first attempt i had made i had disabled my chip.

i have a virgin hard drive and a mod with a switch (open xbox).

this y debate makes me want to spit in all of your faces who seem to be ignorant of this plain and simple fact.

he told you to hit Y so you could bring up your network stats. you do it from the screen inside XBOX Live where it tests your connectivity.

An operator told me to do it so he could get my Upload/Download speed, which were both zero, as expected.

Everyone is hypothesizing, but instead of doing what you should by saying "Maybe it's this" or "I think that possibly it is this" you idiots are saying "THIS IS WHAT IT IS!" or "I KNOW WHAT'S WRONG ALTHOUGH I HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO FACTS TO SUBSTANTIATE THIS."

everyone just stop being stupid and perhaps collectively we can find a solution. not by wasting each other's time with stupid bullshit.

hitting Y isn't a tell tale mod detection, or any type of detection at all.

he probably just called you on being an idiot because you didnt know the proper screen to hit the button in, dummy.
