We need to figure out why some people can get on when they disable their mod chip while others can't get on no matter what.  If people would post their Xbox version numbers (Obtained through settings--system info), their current situation on connecting (Does it work with the chip disabled), and the history of their Xbox's interaction with Xbox Live, BIOSes, bootup method, etc., we might be able to make some more sense of the situation.
