I just want to thank al of the people who have spent so much time trying to figure this problem out.  I am sure tomorrow will be a interesting day for everyone with a modded box.

Oh and by the way if anyone knows the answer to my question please feel free to answer it.

I have evox 1.8.2xxx with evoxdash.xbe, and xboxdash.xbe.  Matrix chip.  No new HDD or any other changes.

Possibly.  A lot of people have been fine this way, but there have also been quite a few with problems.  I would just wait for the dust to settle before taking the chance.  Could save you $200.

Mode 3 allows the Xbox to revert to original BIOS, but if your HD is not locked, it will not work.
