Xbox Configuration Help!

I am having some one mod my Xbox this is what they are going to do


Install the Enigmah Mod Chip

Flash the Bios and Pulll the Chip Back Out


He says that then I will be able to play games, and that Live won't detect anythign because my dashboard wouldn't be changed so it would be like the same thing except able to play backed games.  Now my question is, does that all sound right? Also would I be able to not install EvoX on my Xbox HDD and still use it as a FTP?  Like put in Evo then FTP it, then take out the Evo cd and put in the CD to be backed?? Thanks for all your help!
