Patched or unpatched it makes no difference.

BTW: DVDX doesn't patch the dash, you must do this AFAIK.

Remember NEVER use the XbLive NTSC updater on a PAL xbox!

Thank you for replying opjose, I did not want to bother you personally!

BTW, I think that the first version of DVDX  did actually patch the MS dashboard..  The nfo file says to make a backup of the dash first.  Of course I did, but only until I confirmed the patch worked!  - LOL

So can I just confirm..... The LIVE update, (if it finds a good MS dashboard) will replace it with a new one containing all the Xbox Live stuff.

I assume this new dashboard will be "signed", so I can then lock my drive (at some point in the future) and subsequentally use my Xbox with my Modchip switched off, if it becomes necessary.
