Halo 2 On 360 Split Screen
« on: December 28, 2005, 11:42:00 PM »

Ok, maybe im just retarded. But i can't find how to switch multiplayer to go to horizontal from verticle on the 360. I've gone and set myself to normal format, i changed the output from all resolutions (I use a VGA HD Cable) I can't get it to switch.

Thanks.

Nope.

With the vga cable and the component cable, any resolution above 640x480 (also 480p) will result in a verticle split screen with playing split screen.  Even with the vga cables higher resolutions that are not widescreen (1280x1024, 1024x768), halo 2 will always be in widescreen in these resolutions, regardless whether you chose widecreen or normal, thereby having it split vertically in split screen. The only way to have horizontal for split screen is switch to the lowest resoution of 640x480.

Freaking sucks.

Yeah man, that really sucks.

I can't understand why putting this option in the settings menu is so hard.
You have to constanty go through the 4:3 and 16:9 changes, it's crap.

I doubt at this point they really care - this kind of supports buying more than one Xbox (if it bugs you that much) so they make more money, and this is more logical of a divide.

Hell, I hate it too.

Halo 1 is horizontally split in split screen when in the higher resolutions with the vga cable, or component cable.  It looks very good too in the higher resolutions.
