Well I was looking for like 500 ft of cabling in bulk.  But depending on how much u could make some for me, I woiuld condsider it.  I was going to make some twenty five footers and i still have to measure for my house.  But if u could tell me about how much it would be.  Thanks

construction supply store. you can get them in huge spools. We got one for the remodeling of our new house. Or find an electrician or phone guy you know and they should have a source for you. Just make sure you pick up some connectors to top off the ends.

I would get Cat6 if your planning to go long. Cat6 is better. If you are in australia just go to IT Warehouse. A buck a metre. Its pretty good. At the markets you can get about 40 metres for 15 bucks so thats cool

Yeah, with cat5, I believe you can only go like 300 feet or so before you would need some sort of repeater...

How big's your house? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) 100 metres is a lot of cable! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

The distance is the same with Cat-5 and Cat-6. The difference is Cat-6 is tested to 250MHz whereas Cat-5 and 5e are only tested to 100MHz.

I'd only recommend Cat-6 cabling for Gigabit Ethernet applications, Cat-5e is the best all round choice at the moment.

IEEE 802.1 standard is 333.33 feet, or 101 meters without a repeater.  You are allowed 3 repeaters.
