Levelling Down
« on: July 28, 2005, 08:25:00 AM »

So I played a few matchmaking games the other night in Team Slayer.  In the first game, one of my team members stated, "I am levelling down" and proceeded to commit suicide 10 times in the first few minutes.  Made for a very shit game!

Whay are people doing this?  Is it so they can go back down to a low level, kill someone and shout the usual, "Yeah ya bitch (or some other stupid phrase)," and go to bed feeling good enough about themselves to actually get a hard on and bash one out?

Or is there a legit reason for this.  I just feel as though I pay decent money to have good bandwidth to play, I pay an xbox live subscription and these people come on and make the game as pointless as standbye cheaters.

I don't post every often but this annoyed me almost as much as some idiot branding me an "Australian faggot."  I'm from England you knobend.

I know, people level down to make themselves feel good about been bitches, Bungie stated that they can do nothing on this matter as they don't have administration over peoples derranged minds, lol.

yes, it pisses me off!!   grr.gif

sometimes my friends and I can't get a 4th for TS, so we'll go in and hope for the best...

I don't mind quitters as much because that's 1 less person dying...

for the delevelers, after he kills himself, he should spawn near the rest of your team and when he does, run to him and try to get him to betray you with his grenades/whatever and then boot him!!   muhaha.gif

I don't think spawning next to his own team would make much difference tbh.

Yeah, I wish these people would just quit instead.  I think this actually annoys me as much as blatent cheaters.  Makes the whole level thing redundant.
Bungie might as well get rid of it and just do matchmaking based on the person's performance over the last 10-15 games.  That way people wouldn't really care so much, it would probably lessen the cheating and what not.

If they really wanted to level down they could quit the game and the team would prolly lose.  Instead they intend to be jerks at the same time and not even give you a chance to win.  It could be fixed easily by implementing a suicide limit, however Bungie said there's nothing they are going to do about it.  All you can do is not go into MM blind.

i level down one of my accounts every so often, but we do it in a party of 4, so we just give the other team free wins

It's an easy answer.
People have secondary or even third accounts.
They delevel their secondary and third accounts, probably just 2 month free trial accounts to help there friends get lower levels when they play TS.
It's that simple.

or some people just dont really care about their matchmaking levels (nor should they).
if you get deleveled, so what? why does this number thing mean so much to you? i mean, sure, play MM, but dont worry over that little number next to your name so much. if you lose one, just play a while and youll get it back. you get a good spawn eventually.

I played a game of skirmish the other day on Burial Mounds.  We had the flag about 3/4 of the way back to our base and one guy on our team picked the flag up and ran it back to the other base.  Then on defense the same guy would get the human sniper and run out of the base and give it to the other team.

The guy was an idiot and made our team loose but he was so dumb it actually turned out to be a fun game to play.

ive been in so many MM games when this happened it drives me fucking nut that there isnt a way for a host to stay host host like in many other games and boot people in the room, i like to play for the most part competivaly but these fuckers ruin the game, and when you can boot them its fucked up even more, your up 20-5 in slayer and them some asshole keeps comiting suicide everytime he spawns, next thing you knoe your down 20-5, that shit just shouldnt be allowed to happen, WTF, we never go into any MM game with out at least 4 peeps otherwise we stick to training

A lot of my friends have started to do this with their second accounts on xbl. They usually delevel one of their accounts to make the level lower so they can help with boosting or play games with their friends who have lower levels.

You shouldn't get so upset that you get stuck with them in TS, you should know not to go into a matchmade game all by yourself nowadays. Always try for a full party.

That's bull, we shouldn't have to put up with de-levellers anymore than we should put up with modders. It has the same end in making you lose unfairly!

If you're having a hard time at your current level then get better! ;)
