THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO;

DON'T MOD ON LIVE, WHO DON'T CHEAT AND WHO JUST PLAY HALO 2 AS IT IS MENT TO BE PLAYED.
HOWEVER THIS IS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE AN UPGRADED HD.

Since the hacking of halo 2 on live bungie have got pretty pissed. People with modded xboxes who don't cheat on live are worried about been banned because of the ass bandits that are cheating on live.

Please sign if you have a modded xbox and don't cheat/mod on live with an upgraded HD.

I'm not interested in the cheating scum, just the inocent victums.

Funny thing is i dont even have a modded xbox, i dont swear, and i do not cheat.

I"ve currently written an e-mail to both M$ and Bungie explaining me situation.

Hopefully i will be unbaninated in the near future

cheating on xbox live is not why ms bans people modding. they're protecting their IP, and their completely in their right to do so.

cheating on xbox live is what gets bungie to upgrade their banhammer. People who scoff shouldn't because all their going to do is fix a system (DLC) that is currently broken (why the hell aren't they noticing that people's maps aren't signed properly, and why aren't they signed by an unavailable private key).

patience downlab, all will be set right. wow did i just say that. ppl who mod on live are just dicks and will never get anywere in real life. They cant even PLAY A GAME without trying to cheat. Thats sad.

Yes they are the reason I have to keep an extra unmodded box around...bastards.

I have asked a couple cheaters after the game what there name was on XS and they are always like "Why" "You'll get me banned from XS, f**k you"

i got banned for using the modded maps from halomods website
i played lan with the mods with freinds, then we decided to go on xlive service
3 of our boxes were then banned next time we had decided to play online

im guessing something in the cache folders

That's interesting, it puts the whole 'scanning of the hard drive' question back up in the air.

Or maybe the modded level you played was based too closely on an existing level ie. the modded level used the same cache as an un-modded orignal map did. So when you went on Live the original map saw the cache of itself already there (even though it was actually a modded cache) and you effectively played the modded map on Live.

I think if you use different names or version numbers on the modded maps then the cache files are automatically overwritten. I'm not really up to speed on the current level of H2 modding tbh, the last time I dabbled was when H2 modding wasn't used for cheating just for fun. It's a shame the n00b dicks have tarnished such a great community. The modded Halo 1 maps that came out just before the H2 release were absolutely awesome!

Are you refering to E:/cache or X:/ Y:/Z:/ ?

The map files are uncompressed to one of the X, Y or Z partitions, if you play a game of H2 then look in these you'll see cache00x.map files in one of them.

i just got another box banned, it has not been online and i made sure to clear out every single cache folder. i played halo for few hrs, then later on im banned.

gamertag has not yet been flagged, so i am guessing they scan hdd
cause its new tag
