And it may hit screens in time for Halo 3 for the xbox 360, due next year.
MS and film giants Universal and Fox have reportedly hammered out an agreement to turn the $1-million-plus script by Alex Garland, who wrote the script
for the zombie movie "28 days later", into a feature film that could be released mid next year.
MS's series of demands for the flick turned off so many studios. The company even dispatched copies of the script to studios in the hands of couriers dressed up as Master Chief and had them wait around to make sure no copies were made. Demands are alleged to include creative control, a percentage of box office takings and a budget exceeding $80 million. MS is pushing studios to start shooting as soon as possible so that the movie can be released next year.
Why the rush? MS's head honcho (and the world's richest man) Bill Gates has said he wants the 3rd halo video game to come out at the same time as Sony's next console, The playstation 3, in the hope of snaring some of the new playstation's thunder.
Having Halo movie out at the same time as a new "Halo" game would be certainly another bullet in MS's growing arsenal."
